Bioshock Infinite is one of the most anticipated games of 2013, it is the spiritual successor to one of the best first person shooters ever made and it has one of the best development teams working on it. So with such a reputation to uphold the question now is, is Infinite even worth your time?

Insert Coin to Retry: The Overcoming of Failure in Video Games
I still laugh at this picture. |
"We learn from failure, not from success"
Bram Stoker, Dracula
GAME OVER, YOU ARE DEAD, YOU HAVE FAILED and YOU HAVE BEEN KILLED are words that we see often, these words are usually colored red and are written in intimidating font. Yes my fellow gamers these are the words of the game over screens that all of us have seen at least once in our lives. However when we play a game there is a part of us that knows that failure will inevitably come biting at our very heels like some sort of rabid dog.
We have encountered (digital) death and failure so often that we tend to shrug it off but not before thinking about the mistakes leading up to our avatars kicking the bucket and then revising our strategies to ensure that the same mistakes will never happen again.
I have decided to go into the macabre topic of video game death and failure and see what motivates us to look at the Digital Grim Reaper in the face and laugh at his efforts to break our morale.

Hello Again Madam Strategy, It Has Been A While Hasn't It?
It was the year 2000, it was a cold dark rainy evening much like any other day during the December month in Malaysia. I was alone at home, my parents were out at some function where like minded older folk spoke of topics that I found uninteresting. I chose to stay at home with a friend I met years before, her name was Ms. Strategy and together we conquered the Earth, saved it from alien invaders and Hippos in pink tutus. We were the best of mates until I abandoned her for console gaming and we have been apart for close to a decade but last month we reconciled to save the Earth once again like the old days.

The Nerd Agenda's Top 11 Games of 2012!
So it's the end of the year 2012, looking back at it all I can say is that it was an overall mixed year. We had the Vita and the Wii U being released, we had indie games becoming more mainstream than ever before, Kickstarter became a way for upstarts to gather funding for their games but at the same time we are in one of the longest game console cycles in history and we lost several fine studios who will all be truly missed.
Now I have seen several Top Ten Lists everywhere on the interwebs so I decided to be slightly (ever so) by listing my Top 11 games. Now the simple rule is that any game released in 2012 was eligible to be on my list and it had to be a game where I invested several hours in. So with that in mind I thought long and hard about what my games would be and I am finally comfortable with my current list.

News of the Gaming World! 29th December 2012
December might not be the biggest time for new games but as we all know it is a time to buy games at discount prices even though it will destroy the interior of your wallet.
And yes, these sort of pieces might not be regular on my site but I will try to make it more common sight...on my site.
Horrible puns aside here are the headlines in the gaming world today.

Far Cry 3 Review
Now before I start let me make something clear, when I first saw Far Cry 3 being demoed at E3 I was put off by it, I didn't like the way it handled, the way it looked and the way it played overall. Now that it has been released all I can say is that my mouth is full of crow and it is one of the best games I have ever played in 2012. More after the jump

A Love Letter to THQ
Dear THQ,
We as gamers know you, your work, your achievements and your follies. Many of us such as myself have been raised on your games for over 10 years now and we have seen everything from gangbangers wielding gigantic dildos over their heads to the Horseman of Death taking on a giant golem to seeing our created wrestler win the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania. *More after the break*
